John, Kenji, and I first met through music. After getting to know one another, we discovered that all three of us also enjoyed taking photographs. That was enough reason for a photo walk around Little India.
No elaborate plan or story stood behind the photographs. We walked, talked and snapped whatever looked interesting along the way.
Little India

I liked the small cultural exchange happening here: a Chinese vendor serving an Indian customer. The other vendor's glance completed the frame. Whether she was comparing their rather different builds or merely looking over, only she knows.

The obligatory tourist photograph of Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple. Sometimes the obvious photograph is still worth taking.

I was trying to make a clean photograph of the wall, its patterns and the repeating colours.
After photographing in many places, especially Japan, I may have developed an unrealistic expectation that a public space will eventually clear itself for a photograph. Instead, an oddly placed chair refuses to leave the composition.
The leaves scattered across the ground I could accept. The chair was harder.

I actually stood beside the shop and tried to make a closer, more intimate photograph. The camera operator failed that day, so this wider frame survived and eventually made it into this blog post.
